Meet Mrs. Crawford
My name is Leann Crawford. I have been teaching fifth grade here at GES since 1995. Needless to say, I love this community, school and students. Teaching runs in my family. Both my mother and grandmother were teachers. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from Harding University in Arkansas and my Masters in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My husband, Baron, and I have been married for 11 years. We are blessed with two wonderful children. Corinne is a second grader here at GES and Xander is four years old. Even though we do not live in the community, we view it as our second home. Go Rockets!

Hi! My name is Tara Green, and I am very
excited about teaching you this year!
This is my first year at GES, and I know it’s going to be AMAZING! Let me begin by telling you a little
bit about myself. I received a
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in 1994 - “ROLL
TIDE!” After being in the
workforce for many years, I realized it was time to pursue my true
passion: TEACHING YOUNG
MINDS! I attended Samford
University and received a Masters degree in Education in 2006. Since then, I have taught 2nd
grade at Paine Primary School in Trussville and 4th and 5th
grades at Mt. Olive Elementary School.
My husband, Tod, and I have been married for 16 years, and we have been
blessed with two wonderful children! Tyler will be a freshman at Gardendale
High School, and Tanslee will be in the seventh grade at Bragg Middle School. Between ball and dancing, we stay
pretty busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! I LOVE my family, LOVE what I do, LOVE the students I
teach, and LOVE the parents that support me! I can honestly say that I’m glad I made the career
change, and I'm glad that I'm at GES!

Meet Mrs. Dunnavant
My name is Linda Dunnavant and I have been teaching fifth grade at Gardendale Elementary since 2009. My husband Daniel and I moved here from Tennessee so that he could complete a radiology residency at UAB. We don’t have any children yet, unless you count our dogs Stuart Little and Vito. Prior to moving here, I taught fifth grade in Tennessee. While I am originally from Georgia, I am a Tennessee Volunteers fan. Don’t hold that against me! I received my B.A. from Rhodes College and my Master’s in Teaching from the University of Memphis. I love teaching at GES and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
Email Mrs. Dunnavant - [email protected] Meet Mrs. Walker
My name is Mrs. Walker, and I am so excited about teaching you this year. I wanted to tell you a little bit about me and my family. My husband Layne and I both are Gardendale High School graduates. I attended UAB and have a B.A., M.A., and A.A. certification in elementary education. I have two sons. Gavin is a sixth grader who will be attending Bragg this year, and Presley is a third grader who attends GES! My husband coaches youth sports, and you will see us regularly at the ballpark. Gardendale is a great community to live and work in, and GES is best!
